Visa Information

  • Visitors entering the Republic of Korea must hold a valid passport (passport expiration date must be more than 6 months from date of departure) and obtain a Korean visa prior to their visit.
  • Nationals of visa waiver or visa-free countries could enter the country without visa, but must apply for K-ETA and receive prior to departure.
  • Nationals of non-visa waiver countries must apply for visa at the nearest Korean embassy or consulate prior to entering the Republic of Korea.
  • Participants are advised to consult the Korean embassy or consulate in their country for the list of required application documents.

K-ETA (Korea Electronic Travel Authorization)

  • K-ETA assessment may take more than 72 hours due to unexpected increase in applications or other circumstances. Participants are advised to apply for K-ETA with sufficient time.
  • The K-ETA remains valid for three years or until the passport expiration date, whichever comes first. You may use the K-ETA multiple times during its validity period, with each visit subject to the visa-free stay duration.
  • Please note that an approved K-ETA does not guarantee entry into the Republic of Korea. The final decision will be made by a Korea Immigration Service officer at the port of entry.
  • If you submit inaccurate or false information on your K-ETA application, your approval may be denied or cancelled. Please carefully review your application before submitting it.

Temporary Exemption of K-ETA for 22 countries/regions

K-ETA is temporarily exempted to the 22 countries/regions listed below from April 1, 2023 to December 31, 2025.

Temporary Exemption of K-ETA (~ December 31, 2025)

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Macao, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, UK, US (including Guam).

Nationals of these countries can still apply for K-ETA at 10,000KRW per person, and those who have the K-ETA are not required to submit an arrival card at the port of arrival.

  • Credit or debit card that can be used to pay the fee.
